Wildcats and Minutemen to conclude series on Saturday at the Whitt.

AMHERST, Mass. – Bobby Trivigno scored two goals for the Minutemen as the University of New Hampshire men's hockey team fell to No. 8 UMass at the Mullins Center, 3-0, on Friday evening.

The Wildcats fall to 4-7-1 (2-5-1 Hockey East), while the Minutemen improve to 7-3-1 (5-1-1 Hockey East).

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Minutemen took a 1-0 lead with a power play goal by Trivigno at 8:47 of the first period. Trivigno blasted a one-timer from the slot to the back of the net off a pass from behind the goal by Reed Lebster,
At 17:59 of the third period, UMass made it a 2-0 game when Colin Felix sent a wrister from the right faceoff circle to the back of the net.
Trivigno scored his second goal of the game with an empty-netter with 42 seconds left for the 3-0 final score.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

Junior goalie David Fessenden (Parker, Colo.) made 24 saves and is 2-2-1 on the season, while Matt Murray posted 21 saves and is 7-3-1.
UMass outshot UNH by a 27-21 margin.
The Wildcats went 0-1 on the power play, while the Minutemen went 1-2.
