Men’s Hockey Announces 2020-21 Captains

Kelleher named captain; Grasso, Maass and MacAdams to be assistant captains.
DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire men's hockey program has named senior forward Charlie Kelleher (Longmeadow, Mass.) captain, and senior forward Patrick Grasso (Ankeny, Iowa), senior defenseman Benton Maass (Elk River, Minn.) and senior forward Eric MacAdams (Salem, Mass.) assistant captains for the 2020-21 season. Kelleher is the 117th captain in program history.
"In a year with so many challenges, leadership is of the utmost importance," said head coach Mike Souza. "I couldn't be happier that the team has selected these four individuals to lead them this year."
CHARLIE KELLEHER

Kelleher has played 93 games as a Wildcat, posting 13 goals and 50 assists for 63 career points. His 50 career assists are the most by current Wildcats. Last season as a junior, he tallied a career-best 23 points with six goals and 17 assists. Also last year he tied for first in the nation with two overtime goals. As a sophomore he led the team with a career-best 18 assists.
PATRICK GRASSO

Grasso has appeared in 115 games with 42 goals and 40 assists for 82 points. He is tied for third in the nation in career goals by active players, while he is fifth with 20 power play goals. Last season, Grasso was second on the team with 13 goals and 24 points. As a freshman he was named to the Hockey East All-Rookie Team with 20 goals and 13 assists for 33 points. Grasso is a two-time member of the National College Athlete Honor Society.
BENTON MAASS

Maass, who is a draft pick of the Washington Capitals, has recorded eight goals and 25 assists for 33 points over 100 career games. He won the team's 2020 Whoop Snively Citizenship Award, while he was a 2020 member of the National College Athlete Honor Society. Maass is also a two-time All-American Scholar.
ERIC MACADAMS

MacAdams has 14 goals and 18 assists for 32 career points over 94 games. He recorded a career-season in 2019-20 with seven goals and 11 assists for 18 points. MacAdams won the team's Robert A. Kullen Unsung Player Award for the 2019-20 season.
Hockey East just recently announced the tentative 2020-21 schedule. The Wildcats are scheduled to open the season at No. 2 Boston College on Friday, Nov. 20, and then they will take on the Eagles at the Whittemore Center on Saturday, Nov. 21. Both games are on NESN at 7 p.m.
No spectators will be permitted for home games to keep the safety of the participating student-athletes, coaches and essential staff the No. 1 prerogative, while limiting any potential coronavirus exposure to families, fans and the greater community.
