
Harnett, MacAdams Earn Student-Athlete Spotlight Honor

DURHAM, N.H. - Freshman goaltender Nikki Harnett (Plymouth, Minn.) of the women's ice hockey team and junior forward Eric MacAdams (Salem, Mass.) of the men's hockey team were named this week's Service Credit Union Student-Athlete Spotlight honors for competition from Jan. 6-12.

Nikki backstopped the University of New Hampshire women's ice hockey team to a 1-0 overtime victory against UConn at the Whittemore Center on Jan. 11.
With a career-high 32 saves, Nikki earned her second victory of the season and first career shutout. She was honored as Women's Hockey East Rookie of the Week (for the second time this season) on Jan. 13.

Nikki got the start in Saturday's contest, just her third start of the season and her first at the Whittemore Center. She made 14 saves in the first period, followed by 10 in the second stanza and eight in the third. She did not face a shot on goal in the extra session.
In five games this season, Nikki has a 2-1-1 record with a 1.44 GAA and .949 save percentage.

The three points are a career high for the junior forward, and the two assists matches a personal best. Eric's goal gave the Wildcats a 1-0 lead at 17:11 of the first period, and his assist came on the second of two UNH goals in a span of 1 minute, 52 seconds that gave the Wildcats a 3-1 lead.
Eric set up the game-winning goal in overtime as the Wildcats won their third consecutive game and improved to 8-1-0 at home.
UNH returns to action Jan. 17-18 for a home-and-home series against Providence College; both games start at 7 p.m. and will be televised on NESN. The teams face off at the Whittemore Center on Saturday.
