Macaulay Named America East co-Rookie of the Week

BOSTON – Wren Macaulay (Lake Orion, Mich.), a freshman setter on the University of New Hampshire volleyball team, was honored as America East co-Rookie of the Week on Tuesday.
Macaulay averaged 3.75 assists per set to help direct UNH to a 3-1 record last week; her other statistics included 1.81 digs per set and four service aces.
She recorded a career-high 24 assists in the Wildcats' 3-2 win at Northeastern University on Sept. 10; Macaulay also had a personal-best 12 digs in that match to record her first career double-double; she also contributed four points with three kills (.600 hitting percentage) and one service ace.
Macaulay also had a strong Saturday in back-to-back matches against Colgate University and Quinnipiac University. She finished with 12 assists, four points (one kill, three aces) and four digs vs. Colgate, then had 17 assists, three points (three kills) and eight digs against QU.
This is the first collegiate award for Macaulay and the fourth conference weekly award bestowed a Wildcat this season.
UNH returns to action Sept. 21-22 at the Tiger Invitational. The 'Cats play Loyola University (Md.) on the 21st at 10 a.m.; on Day 2, UNH plays NJIT (10 a.m.) and Towson (1 p.m.).
