Tanski Repeats as America East Defensive Specialist of the Week

BOSTON – Emily Tanski (Plymouth, Mich.), a senior libero on the University of New Hampshire volleyball team, was named America East Defensive Specialist of the Week on Tuesday. She is a repeat winner from last week and has received this award eight times since the start of the 2018 season.
Tanski tallied 72 digs for an average of 5.14 per set to help lead UNH to a 3-1 record last week, and that included first place in the Holly Young Invitational. In the three tournament matches, she averaged 6.00 digs per set.
Tanski recorded a season-high 27 digs in the 3-1 win vs. Brown University, and her defensive effort helped limit the Bears to a .113 hitting percentage. Earlier in the week, she and the Wildcats held Bryant University to a -.054 hitting percentage for the match.
UNH returns to action Sept. 10 (7 p.m.) at Northeastern University. The Wildcats are back on the road this weekend at the Ellis Rowland Memorial Tournament. UNH plays Rutgers University on Sept. 13, followed by host school Colgate University and then Quinnipiac on Sept. 14.
