Gribbin Paces 'Cats in Setback at UAlbany

ALBANY, N.Y. – Senior forward Alli Gribbin (Keller, Texas) scored 15 points and pulled down five rebounds to lead the University of New Hampshire women's basketball team in a 59-41 setback at the University at Albany on Wednesday.
The Wildcats play Maine at home in Lundholm Gymnasium on Saturday at 1 p.m. as part of White Out Weekend.
UNH is 4-17 overall and 1-7 in America East.
UAlbany is 8-13 overall and 5-3 in the league.
The Wildcats played their sixth game without their leading scorer, junior forward Ashley Storey (Cumberland, Maine). Storey is out with a foot injury and is expected to miss at least six weeks.
Forwards Alexi Schecter with 18 points and six rebounds and Heather Forster with 16 points and six rebounds led the Great Danes.
NEXT UP
The Wildcats open a two-game, homestand against Maine on Saturday as part of White Out Weekend. They play UMass Lowell at Lundholm Gymnasium on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at 7 p.m.
UNH plays five of its last eight regular season games at home.
Wednesday's game completed the team's first run through the America East portion of the schedule.

HIGHLIGHTS
Gribbin made nine straight UNH points at one juncture in the third quarter with a basket and a foul shot followed by a pair of three-point baskets.
In UNH's previous game at UMBC on Saturday, Gribbin had her first career double-double with 11 points and a career-high 13 rebounds.
In the road game before that, she had a career-high 17 points at Vermont.
Gribbin was one of three Wildcats to lead the team with five rebounds Wednesday.
Junior guard Caroline Soucy (Beverly, Mass.) and freshman forward Ivy Gogolin (Hopkinton, Mass.) had five rebounds each.
Gribbin made two of her four three-point attempts against Albany. The two makes matched her career best.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Great Danes opened a 21-7 lead after one period.
They upped the advantage at the half.
Gribbin led the Wildcats with five points in the first half and Soucy had four. Soucy and freshman guard Kali Grimm (Norwood Young America, Minn.) each had three rebounds in the first half.
Gribbin had nine straight UNH points in one stretch during the third quarter.
Albany led 49-30 with one period to play.
The Wildcats outscored Albany 17-13 in the third quarter and 28-23 in the second half.
