Patlovich's Career-High 65 Assists Propels UNH Past Binghamton, 3-1

Kennedi Smith Records 12th Double-Double of Season with 18 Kills, 10 Digs
DURHAM, N.H. – Emma Patlovich (Lake Forest, Ill.) recorded a career-high 65 assists to orchestrate a balanced attack for the University of New Hampshire volleyball team in Friday night's 3-1 victory against Binghamton Univeristy at Lundholm Gym. The set scores were 25-12, 25-20, 30-32, 25-16.
Patlovich, the reigning America East Setter of the Week, directed the Wildcats to a .299 team hitting percentage to mark the team's second-best mark of the season. UNH hit at a .571 in the first set with just one error, and closed out the match with a .444 team hitting percentage in Set 4. Patlovich also had nine digs and three blocks.
Kennedi Smith (The Woodlands, Texas), the conference's Player of the Week, recorded her team leading 12th double-double with 18 kills and 10 digs. Smith's 18 kills were a match high, and she posted an impressive .586 hitting percentage. However, she wasn't the only standout for the Wildcats.
Gabri Olhava (Mount Prospect, Ill.) had 17 kills and posted a .289 hitting percentage. She also had four blocks. Hannah Petke (Rancho Santo Margarita, Calif.) posted 15 kills and a .520 hitting percentage. Maddie Wiedenfeld (Omaha, Neb.) recorded eight kills and a hitting percentage of .500.
Emily Tanski (Plymouth, Mich.), the Ameirca East Defensive Specialist of the Week, finished with a match-high 31 digs and was followed by Jenny Weston (Canton, Mass.) with 10. Weston also had two service aces.
UNH swept the season series against Binghamton to improve to 11-13 overall and 7-3 in America East. The Bearcats are 4-18, 2-7.

SET 1
- There were no lead changes and no tie scores in the first set as UNH won the first two points of the match on kills by Wiedenfeld and Petke.
- Leading 4-3, the Wildcats won four consecutive points to build an 8-3 lead.
- UNH extended the advantage to 13-5 on a kill from Smith and three Bearcats' attack errors, the last of which was on a combined block by Olhava and Patlovich.
- The Wildcats pushed the margin to 18-7 with the help of three more Binghamton errors, as well as kills by Molly Woton (Dover, N.H.), Petke and Wiedenfeld.
- Binghamton went on a three-point run that included a service ace by Gaby Alicea to close trim the deficit to 18-10.
- The run was broken by a solo block from Wiedenfeld that fueled a 4-1 run that advanced the score to 22-11.
- A 3-0 run on kills from Olhava and Smith and a service ace from Weston gave UNH the first set.
- The Wildcats had an attacking percentage of .571 in the first set and limited Binghamton to .032
- UNH had only one error to Binghamton's six.
- SET 2
- There were two tie scores and one lead change in the second set.
- Binghamton took the first point, UNH responded with three straight kills from Wiedenfeld and another by Petke to take a 4-1 lead.
- The Wildcats surged in front 8-3 .
- A kill by Wotton broke up a Binghamton two-point run, giving a 10-6 lead to UNH.
- Binghamton rallied to even the set at 13-13.
- UNH went on a four-point run on two kills from Petke to regain the lead, 17-13.
- The Bearcats responded with three consecutive points, but a kill from Smith prevented the visitors from tying the score and make the score 18-16.
- That kill sparked a 4-0 run that included another kill from Smith.
- Binghamton inched within 22-19, but UNH won three of the next four points as a kill from Petke gave UNH the second set, 25-20.
- SET 3
- There were 10 tie scores and five lead changes in the third set.
- UNH built an 12-4 lead on a seven-point run that included kills from Olhava, Wotton, and Smith, as well as a service ace by Smith.
- Binghamton went on a 7-3 run to close within 15-11, and New Hampshire called a timeout when the visitors trimmed the deficit to 16-14.
- Kills from Sarah Shelton (Ellsworth, Maine) and Smith helped extended the margin to 19-16.
- A three-point run that included a kill from Wotton and combined block by Alexa Markman (Chicago, Ill.) and Wotton made it 22-17.
- Binghamton went on a five point run to tie the game at 22-22.
- The score was tied at 23 – Binghamton had five set points and UNH had three match points until the Bearcats won three straight points to prevail 32-30 and extend the match.
- SET 4
- There were nine tied and five lead changes in the fourth set.
- Binghamton won the first two points, but UNH responded immediately to tie the score.
- UNH took its first lead of the set, 7-6, on a kill from Olhava.
- The teams traded points to advance the score to 10-10, but the Wildcats went on a 5-1 run to take control of the set. Two kills and a block by Smith sparked the decisive run.
- Smith recorded back-to-back kills as UNH continued to pull away to a 19-12 advantage.
- A solo block by Emma Tupa (Brecksville, Ohio) gave the Wildcats a 22-13 lead and her kill closed out the set and match, 25-16.
