DURHAM, N.H. – Jere Lundholm '53 and Harriet Forkey '54, '67G received the University of New Hampshire athletics Donor of the Game award, presented by Geico, during Thursday night's football game against UMaine at Wildcat Stadium.
Harriet and Jere both earned degrees from the University of New Hampshire. Jere earned his degree in mechanical engineering, while Harriet earned her undergraduate degree in physical education and her master's degree in psychology.
While attending UNH, both enjoyed successful academic and athletic careers. Harriet, a 1996 UNH athletics hall of fame inductee, excelled in both field hockey and women's basketball. Jere was inducted into the UNH athletics hall of fame in 2001 for his accomplishments on the lacrosse field.
"This school means everything to us and has given us so much," Jere shared. "We both received a wonderful education, enjoyed wonderful athletics success and made lifelong friends and colleagues."
"We give back because our experience at UNH was so special and we absolutely love the University and the Durham community," added Harriet.
Harriet and Jere have been longtime loyal supporters of UNH athletics and their philanthropy has supported the Wildcats for over 35 years. However, their support goes beyond their dollars donated. Their volunteer and leadership efforts helped establish a committee that led to the creation of the UNH Sports Gallery, which is enjoyed by thousands of Wildcat fans who stroll the Field House. For their contributions to this project, they both received the Alumni Meritorious Service Award. Harriet and Jere are two of our most devoted Wildcats, as they support UNH in numerous ways.
UNH Athletics thanks Harriet and Jere, as well as all donors to UNH athletics, for their loyalty and support of the Wildcats.
