Cheerleading Shines at NCA Summer Camp

BOSTON, Mass. - The University of New Hampshire Cheerleading Team attended the 2017 National Cheerleaders Association (NCA) Summer Camp at Boston University to compete for a Paid (Gold, Silver or Bronze) bid to the 2018 Collegiate National Championships in Daytona Beach, Florida, last week.
UNH received a Gold Paid Bid to attend the 2018 NCA Collegiate National Championships following a successful camp. Back in April, the cheerleading team was named All-Girl Division I National Champions at the NCA Collegiate National Championships.
The three day camp consisted of team evaluations and competitions. A total of 22 teams attended this camp and competed for one of five Gold Paid Bids or one of six Silver Paid Bids. Throughout camp, the NCA Staff also nominated cheerleaders for the NCA All-American Award in the categories of Leadership, Dance, Motions, Jumps, Stunts and Tumbling. Freshmen Hannah Wasserman, Danielle Estes and Becca McCann were awarded 2017 NCA All-America honors at this years camp.

All Girl Division 1 consisted of: UNH, Towson University, Boston University, Northeastern University, and Central Connecticut University.Â

The fall tryout date is Saturday, Sept. 16 (2-8 PM) at the Paul Sweet Oval Indoor Track. More information will be released soon. The Cheerleading team will also be at UNH football's home opener against the University of Maine on August 31 (7 PM) at Wildcat Stadium. Tickets are available HERE.
