Grasso Tabbed National Rookie of the Month

WAKEFIELD, Mass. – Freshman forward Patrick Grasso (Ankeny, Iowa) was named the Hockey Commissioners Association's National Rookie of the Month. The announcement was made Wednesday afternoon.
Grasso, who also earned the Hockey East Player of the Week on Monday, Oct. 31, and the Hockey East Rookie of the Month on Wednesday, earns the honor after recording 10 points on eight goals and two assists in just six games during the month of October. He had three multi-point efforts, including a four-goal game against Merrimack College on Saturday, Oct. 29 in a 6-2 home win. He scored three goals in the first period in a span of just three minutes, 56 seconds and added his fourth in the third period.
The freshman currently sits second in the NCAA in goal scoring and is 13th overall with his 10 points. His five power play goals also lead the country as well as his six power play points. He is first among rookies in goals and points.
The Wildcats are back in action on Friday, Nov. 4 when they host Sacred Heart University at 7 p.m. The team remains home the following night as it hosts Mercyhurst at 7 p.m. Limited tickets are available at www.UNHWildcats.com.
