Women’s Cross Country Places 13th at Northeast Regional

MADISON, Conn. – Senior Keely Maguire (Georgetown, Mass.) finished 16th overall to lead the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team to a 13th-place finish at the 37-team NCAA Northeast Regional Friday afternoon at Hammonassett State Park.

The Wildcats totaled 367 points, while Providence posted 46 points to capture the meet.

Maguire, who earned All-Region honors for the second straight year, completed the 6-kilometer course in a time of 20:22.5. Maguire won the individual title at the America East Championships two weeks ago and placed 24th overall at last year's Northeast Regional meet.

Junior Elise Beattie (Woodstock, Ill.) was next in line for the 'Cats as she placed 74th overall in a time of 21:33.6. Senior Darcy James (Exeter, N.H.) was not far behind the pace of Beattie as she claimed 80th place at 21:40.6.

Senior Erin Phillips (Belmont, N.H.) and sophomore Chelsey Serrano (Manchester, N.H.) finished 97th and 100th overall, respectively, in times of 22:01.0 and 22:04.5 to round out the Wildcat scorers.
