Cross Country’s Maguire Earns Weekly Conference Honor

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Junior Keely Maguire (Georgetown, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team was named the America East Performer of the Week, announced by the league Tuesday afternoon.

Maguire was the individual champion at the UAlbany Invitational on Saturday as she back-boned the Wildcats' first-place effort, completing the five-kilometer course in 17:22. She was also the top finisher for the Wildcats at the Paul Short Invitational earlier this season, placing 25th overall. This is the second time a member of the UNH women's cross country team has been recognized by the conference for weekly awards this season. Wildcat sophomore Elise Beattie (Woodstock, Ill.) was named the AE Performer of the Week on Sept. 13.

The Wildcats next return to the course on Oct. 29 when they return to UAlbany for the America East Championships.
