DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team was named to the NCAA All-Northeast Region Team by virtue of her 15th-place finish at the NCAA Northeast Regional on Saturday afternoon at Hammonasset Park.

Fitzpatrick helped lead her squad to a ninth-place finish at the 39-team meet by finishing the six-kilometer course in a time of 20 minutes, 34 seconds. The top 25 finishers at each regional meet are selected to their respective All-Region squad. The last Wildcat to earn All-Region honors was Cathy Parker, who did it in both 2006 and 2007.

Fitzpatrick also narrowly missed out on qualifying for the NCAA National Championships. The top four individual finishers at the regional meets, who are not on an automatic qualifying team, receive an at-large bid. Fitzpatrick was the fifth such individual.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Nov. 20 at the ECAC Championships at Van Cortlandt Park in Bronx, N.Y.
