WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY HOLDS AT NO. 9 IN NORTHEAST
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's cross country team held steady at No. 9 in this week's Northeast Region Poll that was released Monday by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).
UNH, which has now been ranked ninth for three consecutive polls, was victorious at the 21-team Albany Invitational held at the University at Albany on Oct. 16. Seniors Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) and Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Maine), freshman Elise Beattie (Woodstock, Ill.) and senior Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) placed second, fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 177-runner field in times of 17 minutes, 38.00 seconds, 17:51.90, 17:53.30 and 17:56.30.
New Hampshire is ranked second highest of the three America East teams in this week's poll.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Oct. 30 at the America East Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
