ALBANY, N.Y. – Senior Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) finished second overall and was one of four Wildcats to place in the top six as the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team won the 44th annual Albany Invitational on Saturday morning.

The Wildcats won the meet with 29 points, beating out 21 other teams. Middlebury College (85) and

the University at Albany (88) placed second and third, respectively.

Fitzpatrick finished the 5,000-meter course in a time of 17 minutes, 38.00 seconds.

Classmate Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Maine), freshman Elise Beattie (Woodstock, Ill.) and fellow senior Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) placed fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, in times of 17:51.90, 17:53.30 and 17:56.30.

Graduate student Clare Egan (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) finished 12th in the 177-runner field in a time of 18:24.00 to round out the Wildcat scorers.

Junior Elizabeth Campbell (Colonia, N.J.) and senior Jennifer Racine (Haverhill, Mass.) placed 17th and 19th, respectively, in times of 18:31.80 and 18:34.40.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Oct. 30 at the America East Championships at Franklin Park in Boston, Mass.
