WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLACES FIFTH AT NEW ENGLANDS
BOSTON - Sophomore Elizabeth Campbell (Colonia, N.J.) placed 24th overall to lead the University of New Hampshire women's cross country team to a fifth-place finish at the 49-team New England Championships at Franklin Park on Saturday.
The Wildcats, the highest America East finisher, totaled 225 points, trailing Brown (130), Boston College (170) Dartmouth (201) and MIT (217).
Campbell crossed the finish line at 18 minutes, 32 seconds.
Junior Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) supported Cambell's effort by finishing 28th in the 327-runner field in a time of 18:36, while senior Courtney Hamer (Andover, Mass.) placed 34th at 18:38.
Freshman Erin Phillips ran to a 66th-place finish in 19:03, while junior Jennifer Racine (Haverhill, Mass.) rounded out the Wildcat scorers by completing the course 73rd in a time of 19:10.
The ‘Cats return to action Saturday, Oct. 31 at the America East Championships on the campus of Vermont.
