WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY FALLS TO MAINE IN DUAL MEET

RESULTS

ORONO, Maine – Sophomores Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) and Sydney Fitzpatrick (Billerica, Mass.) finished first and third, respectively, but it was not enough, as the University of New Hampshire women’s cross country team fell to the University of Maine Friday afternoon at the Beckett Family Track Complex.

New Hampshire finished with 27 points, just five points behind the Black Bears (32).

Letourneau led the pack with her most impressive performance this season as she ran the course in just 18 minutes, 10 seconds. Fitzpatrick wasn’t too far behind as she crossed the finish line in 18:26.

Sophomore Mackenzie Ferreira (Westerly, R.I.) also placed inside the top-five as she finished fifth with a time of 18:59. In addition, Freshman Megan Murane (Andover, N.J.) had a strong showing as she finished 14th, crossing the finish line at 19:38.

The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Oct. 4 when they return to Orono to take part in the Murray Keatinge Invitational at the Maine Cross Country Course.
