WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY SPLITS VS. BC AND PC

    DURHAM, N.H.—
Senior Cathy Parker (Westford, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire women’s cross country team captured first place overall to lead UNH to a split vs. Providence College and Boston College on Saturday afternoon at UNH’s College Woods 3-plus mile course. BC won it with 32 points, followed by UNH with 47 and PC with 50.
    Parker won the race with a clocking of 17:07, well ahead of second-place finisher Danette Doetzel of Providence who crossed the line in 17:18.
    The Wildcats had three finishers in the top 10, as freshman Erica Jesseman took seventh place (17:47) and Laura LaPlante (Peterborough, N.H.) was 10th in 18:19.
    Finishing 12th for the ‘Cats was junior Kimberly Pavec (Holland-Patent, N.Y.) (18:31), followed by sophomore Courtney Hamer (Andover, Mass.) in 17th (18:58) and freshman Lindsey Jeltes (Oakland, N.J.) and freshman Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) in 20th and 21st, respectively (19:05, 19:07).
    The women’s cross country team will return to action on Sept. 7 at Stony Brook.
