WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY PLACES 13TH AT NCAA REGIONALS

BOSTON
Senior Cathy Parker (Westford, Mass.) finished eighth overall to help the University of New Hampshire women’s cross country team to a 13th-place finish at the 36-team NCAA Division I New England Regional Cross Country Championship on Saturday at Harvard University.

Parker finished the six kilometer course in a time of 20 minutes, 57.30 seconds.

The Wildcats ended up with 320 points. The winner, Providence College, scored 73 points.


Freshman Laura LaPlante (Peterborough, N.H.) was the next fastest Wildcat, placing 65th in the 254-runner field. She finished the race in a time of 22:15.20.


Sophomore Courtney Hamer (Andover, Mass.) and freshmen Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Maine) and Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) were the next three Wildcat runners to place. Hamer placed 72nd in a time of 22:23.85, Jesseman finished 84th in a time of 22:35.35 and Letoutneau was 91st in 22:40.85.


The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Nov. 17 at the ECAC Championships.


The NCAA National Championships take place Monday, Nov. 19.
