BOSTON - University of New Hampshire junior Cathy Parker (Westford, Mass.) was named to the women’s cross country All-Northeast Region Team for her fourth place finish at the Northeast Regional as announced on Tuesday.
Parker was named to the elite team by running a time of 21 minutes, eight seconds to lead the Wildcats to an 11th place finish, beating out 25 other teams at Van Cortland Park in New York. As a result of Parker’s performance, she became the fourth UNH national qualifier since the 1996 season.
To be considered for the All Region team, athletes must finish in the top 25 of their region and meet NCAA Division I Cross Country Coaches Association requirements.
Parker, who also captured first place at the America East Championships, returns to action on Monday (Nov. 20) as she gears up for NCAA’s at Indiana State in Terra Haute, Indiana. The race is scheduled to start at 12:00 noon.
