UNH women's cross country captures Albany championship

UNH placed two runners in the top 10 and finished with 76 points to easily defeat the 23-team field. Middlebury placed second with 113 points. Fellow America East members Binghamton University (193 points) and Albany (238) placed sixth and eighth, respectively.

Parker ran the 5K course of the Bobbi Palma Women's Championship Race in 17 minutes, 46.0 seconds to place fourth overall. Emily Mareb (Great Barrington, Mass.) crossed the finish line in 18:08.3 to take seventh place for the 'Cats.

Jen Busse (Brookline, N.H.), Ashley Vance (Manchester, N.H.) and Chelsea Corr (East Greenbush, N.Y.) completed the Wildcat scoring. Busse placed 14th with a time of 18:20.0 while Vance was clocked in 18:37.8 to earn 24th place. Corr crossed the finish line 5.3 seconds later for 27th place.

Heather Carmichael (Windsor, Vt.) and Kara Fisher (New Milford, Conn.) rounded out the seven-runner squad. Carmichael was 40th overall in 19:01.7 and Fisher wsa 73rd in 19:39.0.

New Hampshire returns to action Oct. 29 at the America East Championship, which is at Binghamton University.
