UNH women's cross country finishes 38th at New Englands

BOSTON -- The University of New Hampshire women's cross country team accrued 1123 points to finish in 38th place at the New England Women's Varsity 2005 Cross Country Championship, which was held Oct. 8 at Franklin Park.

Boston University claimed the title with 56 points in the 44-team event.

Hillary Greene (Old Towne, Maine) was the top Wildcat harrier in 162nd place as she ran the 5K course in 20 minutes, 24 seconds. Michelle Zitta (Swanzey, N.H.) finished 215th with a time of 21:07 and Allison Pomkyato (Hampstead, N.H.) crossed the finish line 10 seconds later for 228th place.

Joanna Alizio (Derry, N.H.; 258th place; 21:58) and Danielle Costanza (Moultonboro, N.H.; 260th; 22:04) completed the UNH scoring.

UNH returns to action Oct. 15 at the Albany Invitational.
