Thatcher Named ECAC Player of the Week

DURHAM, N.H. – Junior Morgan Thatcher (Brockton, Mass.) of the University of New Hampshire volleyball team was named the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division I Player of the Week, announced Tuesday afternoon.

Thatcher led the Wildcats to a 2-1 mark over the weekend. She averaged 4.31 kills per set over four matches last week. The junior right-side hitter hit .273 for the week, which ranked fifth in America East, including .577 (16-for-26) in a 3-0 win over Holy Cross on Friday. Thatcher, who earned all-tournament honors at the Holly Young Invitational, racked up 23 kills in a 3-2 comeback win over Central Connecticut State on Saturday.

This marks the second weekly award for Thatcher after she was named the America East Player of the Week on Monday afternoon.

The Wildcats return to action Sept. 14-15 when they take part in the George Washington Invitational. UNH first takes on BYU on Friday, Sept. 14 at 5 p.m.
