WEST HARTFORD, Conn.Lauren Laquerre (Concord, N.H.) registered a team-high 22 kills and 11 digs to lift the University of New Hampshire volleyball team to Saturday night's 3-1 America East victory of the University of Hartford. UNH improves to 9-15 overall with a 4-5 record in America East, while Hartford is 8-18, 3-6 AE. Set scores were 25-13, 18-25, 26-24 and 25-19.

Laquerre hit at a .425 clip with two blocks. In addition to Laquerre, Amy Keding (Northbrook, Ill.) tallied 14 kills and nine digs and a pair of blocks. Sara Heldman (Greenwood, Ind.) registered a double-double with 41 assists and 11 digs. Jayde Huxtable (St. Charles, Ill.) chipped in with a career-high 14 digs, while Justine Elliott (Mitchellville, Md.) had eight blocks.

In the first set, UNH was clinging to an 11-10 lead before closing out the set on a 14-2 run. The 'Cats registered 15 kills and hit at a .462 clip. Hartford came back with a win in the second set. UNH jumped out to a 16-9 lead, but the Hawks responded with a 16-3 run that included runs of 6-0 and 7-0. Hartford hit at a team-best .231 clip during the set. New Hampshire answered by capturing the third and fourth set for a 3-1 win. The third set was back-and-forth with 12 ties including a 24-24 tie. With the score deadlocked Laquerre registered a kill and served for the win. In the final set, the teams were tied at 13-13 before three-straight points by New Hampshire made it 16-14 and the 'Cats never trailed again holding a small lead for the remainder of the set. UNH tallied 15 kills and hit at a .314 mark in the set.
