WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Toni Barnas (Cary, Ill.) (.290 hitting %) and Lindsay Fogarty (Pleasanton, Calif.) (.476 hitting %) each recorded 13 kills to propel the University of New Hampshire volleyball team to Friday night’s 3-0 victoryagainst the University of Hartford at Sports Center. The game scores were 30-17, 30-24 and 30-22.

UNH, which captures its fifth-straight win, improves to 18-7 overall with a 7-3 mark in America East play. The Hawks are now 7-21, 0-8 in conference.

In addition to Barnas and Fogarty, Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) registered 11 kills, while Kate Uitti (Pinckney, Mich.) had 25 assists. Defensively, Alyse Lahti (Pepper Pike, Ohio) had a match-high 12 digs, while Fogarty added three blocks.

UNH jumped out to an early lead and never looked back in game one as they hit at a .385 clip with 15 kills in the 30-19 win. It was much of the same in game two with the ‘Cats hitting at a .289 clip with 15 kills en route to the win. UNH had 14 kills and hit at a .190 mark in the third and final game.

Overall, the Wildcats out hit Hartford .274 to .071 over the three games.

New Hampshire returns to action on Sunday, Nov. 4 when it travels to America East foe Stony Brook University. Match time is 1 p.m.
