BALTIMORE, Md. – Senior captain Sarah Rehn (Oceanside, Calif.) amassed a match-high 20 kills and 23 digs as the University of New Hampshire volleyball team defeated Maryland-Baltimore County, 3-1 for its first America East victory on Friday afternoon at RAC Arena. The game scores were 21-30, 30-24, 30-24 and 31-29.

    Freshman outside hitter Kirsten Bates (Calgary, Alberta) continued her strong play for the Wildcats with a career-high 17 kills and a .234 hitting percentage. Junior outside hitter Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) ranked third on UNH’s roster with 16 kills to go along with a .262 hitting percentage and 13 digs. Junior Jessica Compton (Woodridge, Ill.) notched eight total blocks in the win over the Retrievers.
    Freshman setter Kate Uitti (Pinckney, Mich.) once again quarterbacked UNH’s offense registering 48 assists, 14 digs and five blocks. Freshman Lindsey Loescher (Crystal Lake, Ill.) totaled 14 digs on defense as the Wildcat libero.
UNH as a team posted a match-high 17 kills in Game 4, while the team hit .216 for the match, including .273 in Game 2.
    The ‘Cats (6-13 overall, 1-3 America East) return to the court on Sunday, Oct. 15 against Albany. Match time at Lundholm Gym is 1 p.m.
