Blouin, Dowd, Walker earn America East Volleyball Honors

ALBANY, N.Y.-- Senior middle blocker Erin Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) of the University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team was named to the America East All-Conference First Team on Thursday night, which was announced at the America East championship banquet on the campus of University at Albany.

Freshman outside hitter Caitlin Dowd (Portsmouth, N.H.) earned America East All-Rookie Team honors, while sophomore outside hitter Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) was named to the Honorable Mention All-Conference Team.

Walker ranked first on the team in kills this season with 376, service aces (39) and total blocks (84). In her last collegiate match as a Wildcat, she posted a career-high 25 kills on Nov. 11 vs. Stony Brook at Lundholm Gymnasium. She posted 4.58 points per game in her senior season, which ranked second among conference players. Walker's 3.72 kills per game was sixth best among America East hitters. Walker leaves UNH ranking third on the all-time school kill list with 1,280. She was an America East All-Conference selection in three of her four seasons in Durham.

Dowd, in her first season as a Wildcat, posted 230 kills, which ranked third on UNH's roster to go along with 132 digs and 21 blocks. Dowd recorded 10 or more kills 11 times as a freshman. She amassed a career-high 21 kills on Sept. 27th at Harvard and in her first collegiate match she managed seven kills against San Francisco on Aug. 26.

Blouin registered a career-high 274 kills on the season as the team's second leading hitter. Her 3.08 kills per game ranked ninth among America East players.Blouin posted 10 or more kills on 16 occasions in her second season, including tying a career-high with 19 kills on Sept. 2 vs. IUPUI at the Marquette Tournament.
