UNH volleyball spikes UMBC, 3-1

Baltimore, Md. - The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team won its third consecutive match with a 3-1 win against Maryland-Baltimore County on Sunday afternoon at RAC Arena, 3-2. The game scores were 23-30, 30-18, 30-24 and 31-29.

Senior captain Erin Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) led the way for the Wildcats with a match-high 18 kills, 12 digs and a .235 hitting percentage.

Freshman outside hitter Caitlin Dowd (Portsmouth, N.H.) and sophomore outside hitter Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) each recorded 14 kills in the win for the Wildcats. Dowd also added nine digs and a .409 hitting percentage.

Freshman setter Lucia Bridova (Bratislava, Slovakia) notched 54 assists running the Wildcat attack. Bridova also added 10 digs, while junior Sarah Rehn (Oceanside, Calif.) tallied 16 digs in a strong defensive match. Freshman libero Callie Webster (Mercer Island, Wash.) registered a career-high and match-high 24 digs in the victory.

With the win, the 'Cats improve to 6-16 overall on the season and 3-4 in America East play.

The Wildcats return to action on Friday, Oct. 28 against Binghamton University. Match time at Lundholm Gym is 7 p.m.
