UNH volleyball downed by BiNGhamton, 3-2

VESTAL, N.Y.- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team lost in five-games to Binghamton University, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon at West Gym. The game scores were 30-24, 30-24, 19-30, 23-30 and 11-15.

Senior captain Erin Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) paced the Wildcats on offense once again with a match-high 22 kills, which was one short of a career-high. Walker also added an impressive .417 hitting percentage.

Freshman outside hitter Caitlin Dowd (Portsmouth, N.H.) tallied 14 kills and 10 digs, while freshman setter Lucia Bridova (Bratislava, Slovakia) notched 43 assists running the Wildcat attack. Sophomore outside hitter Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) also chipped in with eight kills in the losing cause.

With the loss, the Wildcats drop to 3-14 overall on the season and 0-2 in America East play, while Binghamton upped its record to 9-10 and 2-0 in league matches.

The Wildcats return to action on Friday, Oct. 7 vs. conference rival University at Albany. Match time is 7 p.m. at Lundholm Gymnasium. The match can be heard live on the radio on the UNH Sports Network, tune in locally on WTSN Radio (1270 AM) in Dover.
