Wildcat volleyball hosts final spring tournament

DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team played in its third and final spring tournament of the season hosting Boston College, Dartmouth College, Kansas University, University of Maine and University of Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon at Lundholm Gymnasium.

UNH owned 4-3 in seven games defeating each of the two Wildcat alumni teams (30-18, 30-25), Dartmouth (30-25), Rhode Island (30-22) and losing to Boston College (25-30), Kansas (22-30) and Maine (25-30).

Sophomore outside hitter Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alberta) posted a team-high 24 kills to go along with a .327 hitting percentage on Saturday, while sophomore outside hitter Toni Barnas (Cary, Ill.) registered 19 digs in a strong defensive performance.

Sophomore middle blocker Jess Compton (Woodridge, Ill.) tallied a team-high 13 total blocks and a .375 hitting percentage in the tournament.

Freshman setter Lucia Bridova (Bratislava, Slovakia) registered four aces running the Wildcat offensive attack.
