The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team lost to the University of Maine in the America East opener on Tuesday night at Memorial Gym. The game scores were 19-30, 30-27, 26-30, 30-21 and 13-15.
Freshman outside hitter Emmy Blouin (St. Albert, Alb.) stood out once again for UNH with another solid performance, recording a career-high and match-high 19 kills and added nine digs in the loss to the Black Bears. Junior outside hitter Erin Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) also recorded 15 kills, while senior co-captain Natasha Otte (Plymouth, N.H.) chipped in with 11 kills.
Sophomore setter Katie Weidner (Warrenville, Ill.) added a career-high 50 helpers and 13 digs quarterbacking the 'Cat attack. Senior libero Jen Williams (Mountain View, Calif.) recorded a career-high 30 digs on the night and freshman outside hitter Toni Barnas (Cary, Ill.) posted a career-high 10 kills against Maine.
The Wildcats (4-12 overall, 0-1 AE) return to action at home on Friday, Oct. 8th against Maryland-Baltimore County. Match time at Lundholm Gym is 7 p.m.
