DURHAM, N.H.- Head coach Jill Hirschinger of the University of New Hampshire women's volleyball program has announced the addition of three incoming recruits for the 2004 season to complete the six-member incoming class.

DURHAM, N.H. -University of New Hampshire head volleyball coach Jill Hirschinger announced on Monday that Sarah Rehn (Oceanside, Calif.), a 5 foot-11 transfer from Northern Arizona Univeristy has accepted a scholarship to play for the Wildcats. Rehn, will join UNH in the fall of 2004, along with Jess Compton (Downers Grove, Ill.) and Toni Barnas (Cary Grove, Ill.), who have already signed letters of intent.

The team banquet will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday in the Squamscott Room of Holloway Commons. The six-member Class of 2003 will be honored and team captains will be announced for the upcoming 2004 season.




COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- University of New Hampshire assistant women's volleyball coach Karolyn Kirby was named to the 75th anniversary Pro Beach Volleyball International All-Era Team, which was announced Jan. 29 by USA Volleyball. Kirby has been an assistant at UNH since July 2003 and she helped guide the Wildcats to the 2003 America East championship and a berth in the NCAA Championships.




COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Senior outside hitter Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) of the University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team was named to the All-America Honorable Mention team as announced by the American Volleyball Coaches Association on Wednesday afternoon.

LOS ANGELES — The top-seeded USC women’s volleyball team defeated New Hampshire, 3-0 (30-17, 30-18, 30-17), on Friday night in the first round of the 2003 NCAA Championships in front of 889 at the Lyon Center. The Women of Troy now advance to the second round to face 15th-ranked Loyola Marymount on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 6 p.m.

Coler, who captured the league's weekly honors for the second time this season, shared the award with Hartford's Kelly McEathron.

VESTAL, N.Y. - The University of New Hampshire volleyball team posted a five-set victory over Binghamton Friday night at East Gym. The game scores were 30-27, 26-30, 30-24, 31-33, 15-12. New Hampshire improves to 18-11 and 9-2 in America East Conference play, while the Bearcats fall to 14-13 overall and 4-7 in league action.

PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team went 1-1 on the final day of the Brown Invitational on Saturday with a 3-2 loss to Georgia State and a 3-0 win over St. Peter's. The game scores in the St. Peter's match were 30-19, 30-24, 30-13 and in the Georgia State match, 25-30, 30-25, 30-23, 17-30, 14-16.




PROVIDENCE, R.I.- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team defeated host Brown University, 3-1, on Friday night at Pizzitola Sports Center in the first match of the Brown Tournament. The game scores were 30-24, 30-27, 29-31, 30-26.

The UNH Sports Network will break new ground by broadcasting the UNH Volleyball match against Dartmouth on Tuesday, September 23. This will be the first ever broadcast of a UNH Volleyball match on the UNH Sports Network. It will also be the first ever volleyball match to be broadcast on radio in the state of N.H. The network will also broadcast the October 17 match against Hartford.
