STONY BROOK, N.Y. -- The University of New Hampshire volleyball team extended its win streak to a season-high seven matches with the 3-0 win over Stony Brook University on Friday, Nov. 1 at the Sports Complex. The game scores were 30-25, 30-21, 30-24.
With the win the Wildcats improve to 17-10 on the year and 7-1 in America East play to remain in first place in the conference standings.
The Wildcats were led statistically by senior co-captain Lauren Knight (Centerville, Mass.) and freshman middle hitter Amy Dai (Calgary, Alb.), who tallied 14 kills apiece. Junior outside hitter Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) moved to within 30 kills of tying the single-season record (485) with 10 kills on the night. Junior setter Anne Davis (Groveland, Ill.) quarterbacked the 'Cats offense with a match-high 42 assists, while sophomore Jen Williams (Mountain View, Calif.) led three Wildcats in double digits with 11 digs in the Wildcat victory.
The UNH volleyball team returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Hartford. Match time is 7 p.m. at the Hartford Sports Center.
