New Hampshire volleyball downs Hartford, 3-0

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire picked up its first conference win of the season with a 3-0 victory against the University of Hartford at Lundholm Gymnasium on Friday, Oct 11. The game scores were 30-19, 30-23, 30-21.

The Wildcats with the win improve to 11-10 on the year and 1-1 in conference play, while Hartford drops to 10-8 and 1-1 in America East action.

The Wildcats were paced by senior co-captain Lauren Knight (Centerville, Mass.) who tallied a match-high 16 kills and owned a .520 hitting percentage. Junior outside hitter Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) turned in another solid performance with 15 kills, while junior setter Anne Davis (Groveland, Ill.) quarterbacked the 'Cats offense with 44 assists and a match-high eight digs. Freshman middle hitter Karen Harrington (Windham, N.H.) added nine kills, four digs and hit for a .400 hitting percentage.

Hartford was led by junior Kelly McEathron and sophomore outside hitter Stephanie Volckers who recorded 11 and 10 kills respectively.

The Wildcats return to action at home on Saturday, Oct. 12 against Stony Brook University. Match time is 4 p.m at Lundholm Gymnasium.
