UNH VOLLEYBALL DEFEATED BY UTAH IN SEASON OPENER

SALT LAKE CITY-- The University of New Hampshire women's volleyball team lost 0-3 to No. 13 ranked University of Utah on Friday, Aug. 30 at the Utah Classic in Salt Lake City. The game scores were 26-30, 24-30 and 23-30. With the loss in the season opener UNH drops to 0-1 on the season.

Junior outside hitter Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) led the way for the 'Cats with a team-high 10 kills and six digs, while senior co-captain Lauren Knight (Centerville, Mass.) chipped in with nine kills and nine digs. Sophomore libero Jen Williams (Mountain View, Calif.) registered a team-high 11 digs in the loss for the Wildcats, while junior Erin Ludwig (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) notched 26 assists as the starting setter.

The Wildcats return to action on Saturday, Aug. 31 when they face No. 12 University of the Pacific (10 a.m.) and at 5 p.m. they take on Murray State in their last match of the Utah Classic. The Wildcats home opener is scheduled for Tuesday, Sept. 3 at Lundholm Gymnasium against the College of the Holy Cross. Match time is 7 p.m.
