New Hampshire Volleyball downs Boston College, 3-1

DURHAM, N.H. - Sophomore Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) and freshman Bonnie Wilson (Moraga, Calif.) each had 16 kills for the University of New Hampshire volleyball team as the Wildcats won their home opener over Boston College on Monday, 3-1.

The most telling stat of the match, however, was team blocks. The 'Cats (2-2) outblocked the Eagles, 17-4, with junior co-captain Lauren Knight (Centerville, Mass.) leading the way with one solo block and six assisted. Knight also finished with 11 kills. Laura Powers had 15 kills for BC, while Lauren Schwer finished with 19 digs. The game scores were 30-20, 30-25, 25-30, 30-23.

Sophomore Erin Ludwig (Franklin Lakes, N.J.) finished the match with 43 assists, 11 digs and five blocks. Wilson posted her second double-double of the season with 12 digs to go along with her 16 kills. Junior co-captain Sasha Scott (N. Branford, Conn.) posted 10 digs for UNH.

The Wildcats now hold a 21-3 all-time record vs. BC (2-2) and have won their last seven in a row against the Eagles.

UNH returns to action at the University of Massachusetts Tournament which begins Friday. The Wildcats next home game will be Dartmouth on Sept. 11 at 7 p.m.
