New Hampshire volleyball takes out Towson, 3-2

TOWSON, Maryland — The University of New Hampshire volleyball team rallied from a 2-1 deficit in consecutive days as the ‘Cats downed America East rival Towson University in five sets on Saturday, 15-4, 9-15, 13-15, 16-14, 15-9.

UNH, which beat the University of Delaware Friday night in five sets, improves to 13-8 overall, 4-1 in conference while Towson falls to 8-14, 4-2. The Wildcats have won eight of their last nine matches.

Alyson Coler (Monte Sereno, Calif.) had a big game from both sides of the net registering 22 kills to go along with 17 digs and 7 blocks. Jennifer Walker (Fulton, N.Y.) had 11 blocks and 12 kills for the ‘Cats. Stacy Barnett (Crystal Lake, Ill.) had 48 assists and 17 digs.

New Hampshire returns to action on Sunday (Oct. 15, 1 p.m.) at Drexel. Next home match is Oct. 21 versus Hartford.
