DURHAM, N.H. -The University of New Hampshire volleyball team won its 23rd consecutive conference match with a 3-0 win over Drexel University on Saturday afternoon at Lundholm Gymnasium. The game scores were 15-8, 15-10 and 15-5.
The Wildcats are now 18-8 overall and a perfect 8-0 in America East play, while Drexel drops to 9-17 overall and 1-7 in America East. UNH also has a 11 match overall win streak.
Junior outside hitter Kim Mirts-Poen (Essex, Iowa) paced the 'Cats tallying 15 kills, hitting at a .345 clip and 11 digs. Junior outside hitter Jillian Ross (Naperville, Ill.) also had a solid day recording 12 kills and nine digs.
For the Dragons, Courtney Krumrine notched six kills and 12 digs, while teammate Nadine Closs posted five kills and two total blocks The 'Cats return to action at home on Sunday against conference foe Hofstra University at 1 p.m. in Lundholm Gymnasium.
