Women’s Track & Field Impressive at Tri-Meet
DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's indoor track & field team won six events as it played host to the University of Vermont and the University of Maine on Saturday afternoon in a non-scoring meet at the Paul Sweet Oval.
Junior Lucy Garfield (Hanover, N.H.) captured the 1,000 meters in a time of 3:10.94, while sophomore Lindsey Judge (Essex, Vt.) finished runner-up at 3:12.57.
Junior Erin Phillips (Belmont, N.H.) was victorious in the 3,000 meters as she crossed the finish line in a time of 10:39.68.
Junior Rosemary Read (West Greenwich, R.I.) and senior Melody Pothier (Lisbon, Conn.) finished first and second, respectively, in the weight throw with ECAC-qualifying tosses of 53-11.25 and 53-04.25.
Junior Melanie Frazier (Bridgewater, Mass.) finished second in the 55 meter dash in a time of 7.43.
Freshman Caroline Hammond (Lexington, Mass.) finished runner-up in the 800 meters in a time of 2:23.92.
Sophomore Jaden Riendeau claimed third-place in the 600 meters, finishing in a time of 1:47.57, while freshman Gabby Mancuso (New Paltz, N.Y.) took third-place in a time of 5:34.40.
Back in the field, Frazier claimed second-place in the long jump with a leap of 17-02.00, while Goodheart finished third at 16-10.75.
The Wildcats' 4x400 meter relay team of junior Allison Brehm (Pembroke, N.H.), freshman Morgan Costa (Standish, Maine), sophomore Kathryn Darmody (Westport, Mass.) and Frazier was victorious with a time of 4:20.04.
The Wildcats next compete at the America East Championships on Feb.17-18 at the Boston University Track and Tennis Center.
