BOSTON – Senior Camille Quarles (Derry, N.H.) and the 4x400-meter relay team set new school records as the University of New Hampshire women's indoor track & field team competed at the non-scoring and open Boston University Valentine Invitational on Friday.
Quarles was victorious in the triple jump, setting a new school record with a leap of 39 feet, 11.25 inches.
The 4x400 squad of seniors Chelsey Canavan (Stoneham, Mass.), Megan Donohue (Stratham, N.H.), Kaitlin Kwiecien (Hampstead, N.H.) and Kaitlyn Dugan (Hatfield, Pa.) placed second in a school record-breaking time of three minutes, 50.27 seconds – just 23-hundredths of a second behind the winning team.
Junior Melody Pothier (Lisbon, Conn.) finished seventh in the weight throw with a toss of 50-10.75.
Senior Catherine Perella (Bedford, N.H.) ran to a 20th-place finish in the 800 meters in a personal best of 2:14.87.
Sophomore Darcy James (Exeter, N.H.) placed 15th in the 1,000 meters as she crossed the finish line in an ECAC Championship-qualifying time of 2:56.08.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Feb. 12 when they play host to the University of Vermont at the Paul Sweet Oval.
