HANOVER, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's indoor track & field team won five events as it took part in the non-scoring Dartmouth Indoor Classic on Saturday at Leverone Field House.
Senior Rita Ciambra (Hanover, N.H.) captured a win in the pole vault as she cleared a height of 13 feet, 1.75 inches.
Senior Camille Quarles (Derry, N.H.) placed first in the long jump with a leap of 17-10.25.39-4.50. Sophomore Melanie Frazier (Bridgewater, Mass.), senior Meghan McGrath (Merrimack, N.H.) were second and third, respectively, with marks of 17-6 and 17-5.50.
Senior Erica Jesseman (Scarborough, Maine) was victorious in the 3,000 meters in a time of nine minutes, 52.01 seconds.
Senior Kaitlin Kwiecien (Hampstead, N.H.) finished first in the 500 meters in a time of 1:17.17.
The Wildcats' 4x800-meter relay team submitted a first-place finish in a time of 9:24.99. The 4x400 team was second at 4:08.99.
Junior Melody Pothier (Lisbon, Conn.) finished second in the weight throw with a toss of 52-10.75.
Senior Jasmin Washington (Waltham, Mass.) placed second in the triple jump with a leap of 35-6.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Feb. 12 against the University of Vermont at the Paul Sweet Oval.
