KINGSTON, R.I. – Junior Kaitlyn Dugan (Hatfield, Pa.), graduate student Kelly Thomas (Chichester, N.H.) and junior Jacky Mendes (Dayton, Maine) placed third, fifth and sixth, respectively, for the University of New Hampshire women's indoor track & field team at the 17th annual URI Pentathlon on Friday at Mackal Field House.
Dugan amassed 3,214 total points behind the strength of her win in the 800 meters in a time of two minutes, 26.42 seconds. Dugan also tied for second in the high jump with a mark of five feet, 3.25 inches.
Thomas totaled 3,078 points as she finished just behind Dugan in the 800 in a time of 2:28.41. Thomas also turned in a fourth-place finish in the 60-meter hurdles in 10.05.
Mendes tallied 3,075 points and was sixth in the high jump with a leap of 4-11.75.
The Wildcats were the only team to place three athletes in the top six.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Dec. 4 (11 a.m.) at the Jay Carisella Carnival at the Reggie Lewis Center.
