DURHAM, N.H. – Senior Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.) won a pair of events for the third straight meet, as the University of New Hampshire women’s outdoor track & field team played host to the Wildcat Invitational II on Saturday at the Reggie F. Atkins Track.

The University of Maine, Quinnipiac University, Bowdoin College and Colby-Sawyer College also took part in the non-scoring meet.

Lathrop won the discus throw by 26 feet with a toss of 42.74 meters and then took first in the hammer throw by nearly 18 feet with a mark of 53.06m. Freshman Rosemary Read (West Greenwhich, R.I.) was second in the hammer at 47.70m.

Junior Kate Early (Corning, N.Y.) submitted a first-place finish in the shot put with a throw of 11.04m, edging out the runner-up by half an inch. Early was also second in the high jump with a mark of 1.62m, while freshman Kayla Smith (Merrimack, N.H.) was third at 1.52m.

Classmate Camille Quarles (Derry, N.H.) was first in the triple jump with a leap of 12.34m. Sophomore Eliza Mackintosh (Hanover, N.H.) was second at 11.55m.

Junior Allison Letourneau (Kingston, Nova Scotia) picked up a win on the track, finishing first in the 800m in two minutes, 13.12 seconds. Junior Kaitlin Kwiecien (Hampstead, N.H.) and freshman Darcy James (Exeter, N.H.) were second and third, respectively, in times of 2.17.98 and 2:18.47.

Senior Victoria Goodheart (Meredith, N.H.) placed second in the pole vault by clearing a height of 2.98m.

In the long jump, junior Meghan McGrath (Merrimack, N.H.), freshman Melanie Frazier (Bridgewater, Mass.), sophomore Danica Goodheart (Meredith, N.H.), senior Esperance Ndombe (Manchester, N.H.) and Victoria Goodheart placed second through sixth, respectively, with marks of 5.38m, 5.33m, 5.30m, 4.94m and 4.82m.

In the javelin, senior Kelly Thomas (Chichester, N.H.) and freshman Keyla Salazar (Nashua, N.H.) finished third and fourth, respectively, with throws of 33.96m and 30.19m.

On the track, the Wildcats’ 4x400-meter relay team of junior Brittany Verville (Bow, N.H.), senior Tracy Howell (Grafton, Mass.), Letourneau and Brehm placed second in a time of 4:04.76.

In the 200m, freshman Allison Brehm (Pembroke, N.H.), sophomore Elizabeth Adejuyigbe (Penacook, N.H.), Verville, freshman Kaitlin Joseph (Nashua, N.H.) and senior Kristina Brennan (Lexington, Mass.) finished second through sixth, respectively, in times of 26.57, 26.74, 27.10, 27.26 and 27.31.

Junior Jennifer Racine (Haverhill, Mass.) placed second in the 1500m in 4:45.31.

Senior Tayla Ryan (Norwood, Mass.) was second in the 100-meter hurdles in 14.82, while junior Megan Donohue (Stratham, N.H.) was also second in the 400-meter hurdles in 1:04.68.

Senior Courtney Hamer (Andover, Mass.) placed third in the 5000m in a time of 18:24.72.

Senior Amanda Rusilas (Charlton, N.Y.) finished third in the 3000m steeplechase in 12:01.59.

The Wildcats return to action April 14-15 at the Holy Cross Heptathlon.
