BOSTON - Senior Ashlee Lathrop (Sherburne, N.Y.) placed second in the weight throw to lead the University of New Hampshire women's indoor track and field team at the Jay Carisella Invitational on Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center. The meet was an open and non-scoring meet.
Lathrop picked up where she left off last year in the weight throw with a toss of 53 feet, 11.75 inches. Freshman Rosemary Read and senior Kate Ouhrabka (East Greenwich, R.I.) placed eighth and ninth, respectively, with marks of 44-6.75 and 43-2.25.
In the triple jump, junior Jasmin Washington (Waltham, Mass.) and senior Amanda Hutchins (Plymouth, N.H.) finished third and fourth, respectively, with leaps of 35-4.5 and 35-2.5.
Junior Camille Quarles (Derry, N.H.) placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 17-2.75. Freshman Melanie Frazier and sophomore Eliza Mackintosh (Hanover, N.H.) were sixth and seventh, respectively, with jumps of 16-7.75 and 16-6.
The Wildcats return to action Saturday, Dec. 12 at noon when they travel north for a dual-meet battle with the University of Maine.
