CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – Sophomore swimmer Katie Mann (Prince George, British Columbia) and senior diver Ellen Pelletier (West Hartford, Conn.) were honored by the America East Conference as the top performers in their categories Tuesday afternoon.
Mann was tabbed the America East Women's Swimmer of the Week for the second time this season as Pelletier was named the America East Women's Diver of the Week, also for the second time.
Mann helped lead the Wildcats to a 193-100 victory over the University of Maine on Friday, Feb. 1. The sophomore picked up a pair of first place finishes in the meet, including one in the 200-yard medley relay. She also set a new Swasey pool record en route to a gold finish in the 200 breaststroke, touching the wall with a time of 2:18.17. The margin of victory between Mann and second place was just under eight seconds.
Pelletier swept the diving events at the meet, posting a score of 277.35 in the 1-meter five while taking gold in the 3-meter dive with a score of 271.42. She now holds the top conference score in the 1-meter and is second in America East in the 3-meter.
The Wildcats will return to the pool Thursday, Feb. 14 in the first day of the America East Conference Championships. The four-day event will be held at the University of Maine.
