CAMBRIDGE, MASS. ­– Jessica Little (Barrie, Ontario), a freshman on the University of New Hampshire swimming and diving team, was selected as the America East Female Swimmer of the Week as announced by the conference Tuesday afternoon.

During this past week of action, Little earned four individual first-place finishes and swam the breaststroke leg of the Wildcats’ top-place finishing 400-yard medley relay against Dartmouth. Also in the meet, Little touched in at 2:11.41, more than two seconds ahead of her competition, to earn first in the 200-yard individual medley. She also garnered first in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:21.98, which was more than 10 seconds ahead of any Big Green swimmer.

In the Wildcats meet against Maine, Little earned first in the 100-yard breast, touching in five seconds ahead of any Black Bear swimmer at 1:05.55.  Once again, she dominated the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:20.97, almost 13 seconds ahead of any Black Bear competition.

This is Little’s second time being named performer of the week as she earned the accolade Oct. 21 for her performances during her first week of collegiate competition.

The Wildcats will begin the America East Championships on Thursday, Feb. 19. All events will take place at Boston University’s Aquatic Center.
