UNH WOMEN’S SWIMMING AND DIVING UPENDS COLGATE, 151.5-148.5

DURHAM, N.H. - Deanna Petchonka (Ridgefield, Conn.) was the winner in the 100-yard butterfly and helped lead the way toward a first place finish in the 200 freestyle relay. The efforts were enough to garner a meet win over Colgate, 151.5-148.5. Petchonka was first in the 100 butterfly at 58.56 seconds and placed just ahead of teammate Ana Dowell (Phoenix, AZ) (58.67). Petchonka joined forces with Dowell, Katrina Maloney (Dover, N.H.) and Catie McDonough (Denville, N.J.) to take the win in the 200 freestyle relay, earning 11 points to win the meet.

Brittany Daly (Brightwaters, N.Y.) placed first in the 1000 freestyle at 10 minutes 30.75 seconds. Maloney was second at 10:33.85.

Kary Goodman (South Windham, Maine) was the winner in the 200 butterfly, clocking in at 2:10.05. Petchonka (2:10.36) and Laura Fay (Eugene, Ore.) finished out the top three for New Hampshire.

Shana Dege (Lockport, N.Y.) claimed the top position in the 1-meter dive, earning a score of 254.10.

Shannon Daly (Brightwaters, N.Y.) was first to the wall in the 200 breaststroke at 2:21.20.

New Hampshire will host their next meet against America East member Binghamton University Sunday November 13 at noon.
