CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — Meghan Ledwith (Yardley, Pa.) a freshman forward for the University of New Hampshire women's soccer team, was honored as the America East Rookie of the Week by the conference Monday afternoon.
Ledwith opened last week with a five-point outing against Albany (Sept. 29), leading the Wildcats to a 5-3 victory, tallying two goals and an assist. The impressive total makes her the first America East Rookie to notch five points in a game in over two years. Additionally, the mark also comes as the highest single-game point total posted by any player in the conference this year.
In the squad's other game against Hartford (Oct. 2) she posted one shot, coming as an on goal attempt. She has now found the back of the net in two of the last three games, and currently leads the squad with eight points on three goals and two assists. Moreover, she ranks ninth in the league in total points this season.
Ledwith and the Wildcats return to action Thursday, Oct. 6 (3:30 p.m.) when they return home to host Boston University at Lewis Fields.
