DURHAM, N.H. – The University of New Hampshire women's soccer team announced its 2010 schedule Monday afternoon.

After traveling to Franklin Pierce College for an exhibition game Aug. 21, the Wildcats get things started Aug. 24 when they play host to the University of Rhode Island. The match will mark the first time UNH has opened its season at home since Aug. 27, 2000 when it recorded a 1-0 win against the University of Texas-El Paso at Lewis Fields.

The Wildcats quickly hit the road when they make their annual trip to the TD Bank Vermont Classic on the campus of the University of Vermont for two of their 10 games away from Durham. The 'Cats battle LaSalle University on Aug. 27, before closing out the tournament against Rider University on Aug. 29.

The 'Cats kick off September with their first game under the lights Sept. 3 at the College of the Holy Cross. UNH then plays host to Harvard University two days later, before traveling to the University of Massachusetts for a Sept. 10 meeting with the Minutewomen.

A four-game stretch that features three of the Wildcats' nine home contests is up next, beginning with a Sept. 12 face-off with Siena College. The team heads to Northeastern University for another evening tilt Sept. 17, before playing host to Bryant on Sept. 19 and intrastate rival Dartmouth on Sept. 23.

UNH opens America East play Sept. 26 at rival Boston University. The last six meetings between the two teams, which met in the 2007 America East title game, have been decided by an average of one goal. The squad closes out its non-conference slate at Brown on Sept. 29, before playing its last seven against conference foes.

The University of Maryland, Baltimore County visits Durham on Oct. 3, followed by UNH hitting the road to face the University at Albany on Oct. 7 and the University of Maine on Oct. 10.

The Wildcats then wrap up their regular season with three of four at home, beginning with a game against last season's America East runner-up Stony Brook University on Oct. 14. Vermont and UNH renew their rivalry Oct. 17 before the Wildcats make their final trek of the season Oct. 21 to take on Binghamton University under the lights. The 'Cats return home to honor their seniors on Senior Day when they play host to Hartford on Oct. 24.
