KAPLAN NETS CONFERENCE HONOR FOR WOMEN'S SOCCER
CAMBRIDGE, Mass. – The America East conference announced Monday that Shaunna Kaplan (Framingham, Mass.), of the University of New Hampshire women’s soccer team, has been named America East Women’s Soccer Player of the Week for the week ending Oct. 21.

Kaplan propelled the Wildcats to victory Oct. 21 when she scored the lone goal of the game on the road against conference-foe Hartford. Kaplan picked off a pass in her own offensive zone, made a move to fake the opposing goalkeeper and buried the ball in the back of the vacant net for her second goal of the season.

The win kept the Wildcats on top of the conference standings, and clinched at least a top-two spot and a first-round bye in the America East tournament.

Kaplan has played in all 16 of the Wildcats’ matches this season while tallying two goals and two assists for six points, which places her fourth on the team.

The Wildcats return to action Thursday, Oct. 25 when they play host to Boston University with the America East regular-season champions title on the line. Game time at Lewis Fields is 2:30 p.m.
